Welcome back dear students!
I
believe this brand new semester is crucial for each and every one of you as
this is your final semester. Lectures will be tougher, assignments would be
more challenging and it seems like you just do not have enough time to manage
all of what semester 3 will hold for you. Fear not for those who are
hardworking shall be rewarded with the fruit of success by the end of the
semester.
In this
semester, FEE1323 English III will offer you an array of speaking and writing
activities which requires your active participation in class. As usual, our
syllabus will be based on IELTS but from time to time I will introduce some
MUET activities to cater for those who will be sitting for the said exam this
July.
As part
of the requirement of this course, you are required to respond to ONE blog journal on the issue that I
will post on this blog every week. You are also required to respond to at least
ONE of your friend’s blog entry.
Your respond need not be too long (approximately 100 words will do). This blog
journal activity will take place throughout the 14 weeks and your participation
in this blog will contribute to your carry marks for this subject.
For this
week, I hope to hear about your expectations
on this subject. Specifically, you may respond to these questions for this
week’s blog:-
1. What do you wish to learn from English III?
2. What are the learning goals that you have set for
yourself this semester?
3. How do you respond to the course requirements? (Test

1. I am planning to sit for MUET paper this mid year. So, I wish I could learn more on writing part, speaking or discussion. I am also looking forward for interesting activities that can fresh up our mind.
ReplyDelete2. My learning goal for this semester is to get use to new vocabularies, have a plenty of exercise on writing and enhance my speaking and presenting skills as well.
3. In my view, course requirements are somewhat testing our knowledge, giving a certain exposure to a higher level education system, and also through assignment such as videos... is truly an activity that teaches students about the importance of cooperation.
1) First and foremost I will sit for MUET exam this July as Gaayethri said. So, I prefer to learn more on writing and also group discussion. Apart from that , I wish we could do activities such as drawing mind maps and explaining it in front of class because this type of group activities instills cooperation and enhances our creativity.
ReplyDelete2) My learning goals for this semester is get use to more transition words that will be helpful for my MUET speaking. Other than that,I must improve my speaking and also writing.
3) In my opinion, course requirements are exam oriented. This is because education system nowadays are too competitive. But seriously I enjoy doing our assignment such as presenting video because it not only tests our English knowledge but it also give us an exposure on how to build a teamwork, which can be very useful for our future life.
1) First of all, in another two months i'm going sit for MUET, so i wish to learn the correct way to discuss on a topic in agroup, speaking and listening skills. This is because those skills are a part of the MUET test.
ReplyDelete2) The goals that i have been set up for this semester are to improve my grammar and language. So, it can help me in writing. Other than that, i would like to improve my listening skill too. This is because i really hate and weak in listening especially listening to conversation which uses different slang.
3) Course requirements such as Test 1 and final are the one of the best way to know how deep the student understand and know the way to apply English in their life. Besides that, the course requirements such as assigments gives the chance to show out all the talent which are burried inside the student. For example, video assignment in our last semester brought out the talent that burried among our friends and while watch others video, we ourself could not believe that our friends are really talented in acting. Extra assignments also teaches us how to work in a team which we can apply it in our carrier life.
Nagiswary and Devagi...I guess we guys have to start our MUET examination practice as we are in the same boat...

ReplyDelete1. I will sit for MUET exam in July, thus I wish I can improve myself in the writing and speaking part. Besides, I am less confidence when talking in a group or in front of the peoples. So, I wish we could do more activities which require us to present and explain.

3.In my opinion, course requirement is the way to test what had we learnt in the class. Besides, the video assignment teaches us the importance of teamwork. Cooperation and understanding between group members are the essential elements in produce a success video.
